Phillipi Estate Park and Edson Keith Mansion

The Phillipi Estate Park is an incredible historic landmark which offers its visitors a glimpse into the life of an ancient Indian civilization. Phillipi Creek was once a dwelling place of Manasota Indians and the Park protects one of their prehistoric middens and other archeological sites.  In 1916, the Keith family purchased the 60 acre parcel and commissioned architects from Chicago to build an Italian Renaissance inspired mansion. The lavish mansion currently serves as an establishment for social events.
The mansion has all the characteristics of a classic luxury wedding venue. It contains a large living room with 3 sets of French doors. There are two twin sunrooms (east and west) on either side of the living room. The east sunroom has a stunning view of the mansion’s rose garden as well as a door to access the garden, guest park, and the private parking lot. The living room, sunrooms and the library provide a space for approximately 150 seated meals. Another great feature is the mansion’s original staircase. This provides an opportunity for the couple and/or the wedding party to engage in the classic descent down the latter. This moment captured will make for an essential addition to the wedding album. The second floor of the mansion includes the bride’s room, which provides a vast private space for all of the bride’s preparatory needs.
The outdoor area of the mansion includes an 86 foot long open terrace and a gazebo. The terrace is an ideal space for an entertainment setup and/or a beverage serving station. The gazebo, positioned on a large open space, can serve as an outdoor wedding venue which can accommodate approximately 60-75 guests.  Other features of the estate include a fishing pier, nature trails and picnic tables.
The mansion grounds provide a variety of entities that can be utilized based on the couple’s preferences. The array of greenery surrounding the park provides for stunning imagery of Florida’s nature. This is a setting designed to satisfy a couple’s taste for simple luxury. Founded on the remains of a prehistoric civilization, the Phillipi Estate Park along with the Edson Mansion create a unique wedding venue which combines modern opulence with ancient antiquity.

Ringling Museum – Sarasota’s Best Wedding Venue

The legendary Ringling Museum of Art was established by John Nicholas Ringling in the year of 1927. Upon his death, the renowned circus mogul dedicated his private art collection along with his property to the State of Florida. This incredible endowment to the people of Florida has blossomed throughout the century into one of the most beloved landmarks of the Bradenton/Sarasota area. Apart from its appeal to the local community and tourists, the museum also serves as one of the most versatile wedding venues in the bay area.

The property features three main areas: the art museum, circus museum, and the Ringlings’ Ca’ d’Zan mansion. Each area flourishes with a number of its own distinct features. The art museum is comprised of twenty-one galleries which consist of more than 10,000 items including paintings, drawings, photos, prints, decorative arts and sculptures from around the world.  The circus museum contains a collection of artifacts and memorabilia from the early 1900’s and serves as a tribute to the history of the circus. The incredible Ca’ d’Zan mansion is the Ringlings’ very own Venetian Gothic style estate on the bay.

All three of the above-mentioned areas also serve as wedding rental venues. The museum courtyard is arguably the most extravagant out of the three. Inspired by ancient Romanesque architecture, the courtyard is surrounded by loggia and features replicas of sculptures from the Greek, Roman, and Baroque periods. A couple with a taste for ancient tradition and elegance will find their expectations surpassed by the imposing luxury of the courtyard.

The Ringling Ca’ d’Zan mansion also exudes an ambiance of classical luxury. It is designed in the style of Venetian Gothic architecture with the Sarasota bay serving as its canal.  The couple will be able to take advantage of the lavish bay front terrace as their reception hall. Constructed of imported and domestic marble, the terrace provides a vast space with the mansion behind and the bay at the forefront.

Although an unorthodox choice for a wedding venue, the circus museum provides a fun, unique and cost effective solution to a reception banquet. The couple will be able to use the backyard as well as the entire museum for their event.

The Ringling Museum is undoubtedly one of the most versatile wedding facilities in the state of Florida. Whether it is the ancient opulence of the courtyard, the classical luxury of the mansion, or the unique character of the circus museum, the couple ultimately decides which theme is most suitable to their needs. Let Yaeko photography bring out the best in any choice that the couple makes.
