With an architecture inspired by the Mediterranean-Revival style, the Crosley Museum boasts of its majestic circular tower and an elegant carriage house – perfect for your romantic wedding ceremony! Furthermore, the Crosley Museum also successfully incorporated modern amenities to better provide a great wedding reception experience for you and your guests.

Powel Crosley Museum – An Ideal Wedding Destination

One of the most prominent wedding venues in Sarasota is the esteemed Powel Crosley Museum. Built in 1929 by Powel Crosley, a famous entrepreneur from Cincinnati, the Powel Crosley Estate and Museum boasts of a classy and stylish architecture from an era long forgotten. Combining a classical setting with contemporary elements, the estate can be found appealing to both the traditional and the modern wedding couple alike.
The house was built by Mr. Crosley as a winter retreat for his beloved wife Gwendolyn. The 2 ½ story Mediterranean Revival style mansion sits beautifully on the Sarasota Bay. It was initially built on a sixty-three acre parcel existing as its own subdivision called Sea Gate.

The estate contains 10 bedrooms and 10 bathrooms. Some of its spectacular features include: huge carved doors, French windows, terra cotta tile flooring, cypress beams, plaster ornamentation, stained glass, fountains, swimming pool, dock, and the unique circular ship room, designed to resemble a cabin.

The Powel Crosley Museum is located between Bradenton and Sarasota. The grounds of the museum are exceptionally maintained and provide its visitors with a ravishing foreground view of the Sarasota Bay. In the year 1982, Powel Crosley Estate was duly placed in the National Register of Historic Places, thus saving it from any commercial development and preserving its authentic elegance and class.
The architecture of the Powel Crosley Museum exudes a rather historical appeal, elegance and uniqueness which distinguish it from the typical Florida beach wedding venue. This historic estate also offers their guests a spectacular indoor wedding location. Couples who choose to have their wedding held at the Powel Crosley will have, with their guests, the benefit of using both the second and first floors of the estate.

The Powel Crosley Museum offers a beautiful and breathtaking location ideal for wedding photography. The grounds, waterfront setting, overall architecture and the historic ambiance combine to create a foreground of stunning and diverse imagery.  A couple seeking to create a stylish and tasteful wedding album can find their inspiration in the variety of flavors that the Powel Crosley estate has to offer. Its appeal lies in its diversity and uniqueness. It remains up to the couple to choose which flavors they would like to bring out in their visual storybooks.

Let Yaeko photography be your guide in choosing and conveying those elements important to you on your special day.

South Florida Museum

The South Florida Museum, located in downtown Bradenton, is arguably one of the most unique wedding venues on the Gulf Coast. While the museum’s primary objective is to showcase Florida’s natural and cultural history, it also serves as a versatile event venue; hosting weddings, corporate and black tie events. The museum was founded in 1946 by the bay area’s community leaders and originally contained a collection of archeological materials. The museum currently flourishes with a plethora of new additions which include a planetarium, an aquarium, and a Spanish Plaza!
When considering The South Florida Museum as a wedding venue, one cannot overlook the elegant features of the Spanish Plaza. The plaza is uniquely designed to replicate a 16-th century Spanish town center in all of its splendor. Some of the Plaza’s features include elaborate arches and columns, artistic iron gates, lamp posts, chandeliers and a fountain with an equestrian statue of Hernando De Soto. Each feature is rich with a high level of detail making the plaza an ideal location for stunning photographic imagery. The open layout of the plaza allows for vast variety of seating options for the guests, leaving the arrangement to the imagination of the coordinators. The most notable feature; however, is the modeled 16-th century chapel located inside the plaza.

The chapel replica contains exquisite features such as the stained glass windows and marble flooring. The chapel can be made available during the wedding as an addition to the plaza. Also, as an addition to the plaza and the chapel, the couple can take advantage of the VIP Boardroom. This private space comes with an underwater view of the Manatee Aquarium. The aquarium is home to the oldest known manatee in the world, Snooty. The new Bishop Planetarium can also be used as an additional room.
A couple desiring to a create a storybook wedding can find their inspiration at the South Florida Museum. The chapel and plaza come complete with an abundance of detail which combine to create and ideal set for a shoot. The planetarium, aquarium, and the museum’s other numerous features can all be incorporated to add an element of eccentricity to the event. The couple makes the ultimate choice of which elements appeal more to their tastes and style.
